Once a year, everyone on our team rolls up their sleeves and dedicates all of their creative and strategic skills to deserving local nonprofits for 24+ hours. This all-day, all-night sprint is called CreateAthon, and it’s our favorite time of the year.
For our 17th annual CreateAthon, we worked with three nonprofits that work tirelessly to bring dignity and belonging to all people in our community—Shower the People, My Bag My Story, and Special Olympics of Tennessee. Take a look at what we made for them:
Their Mission:
Shower The People’s focus is on providing showers and mobile laundry services to those individuals with the most barriers and most limited access to these facilities throughout Davidson County. In addition to providing all the supplies these folks need to take advantage of the organization’s shower services, guests receive take-with-them kits to meet their dental and hygienic needs as well as new socks and underwear. And Shower the People not only provides laundry services for their shower guests, but for individuals and families in need of support.
What They Needed:
- A storytelling video aimed toward potential donors and volunteers
- Brochures explaining their mission and programs to hand out at events
- Website updates to reflect their current work
A Few of the Things We Made:
Two videos created to inspire donors and volunteers to action.
A brand refresh with new logos, colors, and fonts.
A pitch deck and flyer to help the STP team effectively tell their story.
Designed a custom bus wrap to increase STP’s recognizability around town.
Created email and social media templates for easier communication.
Plus sticker and magnet designs for a sprinkle of extra fun.
Their Mission:
Most people don’t realize that children in foster care often travel with nothing more than a trash bag to hold their belongings. My Bag My Story is here to change that—one bag, and one person at a time. MBMS is on a mission to improve the lives of children in foster care, elevating their sense of dignity and self worth.
For every bag purchased, one bag is donated to a foster child in need. They partner with local churches, businesses and organizations to get bags into the hands of the 8,000+ children in the foster care system across the state of Tennessee. Since its inception, My Bag My Story has given over 1,000 bags to children in foster care.
What They Needed:
- Media strategy and support
- Updated photos and videos to tell their story
- A refreshed website
- A social media content strategy and campaign
A Few of the Things We Made:
Produced a video to highlight the difference My Bag My Story can make in foster children’s lives.
New photography to tell their story and showcase their products.
Updated branding, with a logo optimized for scaling and new colors, tagline, and iconography.
Created assets for a social media campaign to boost holiday sales and donations.
Designed marketing materials to give to potential donors and volunteers.
Developed multiple Google Ads campaigns to generate awareness.
Gave their website a refresh for an optimized online experience.
Their Mission:
Special Olympics transforms lives through the joy of sport, every day, everywhere. Their mission is to provide sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.
Our CreateAthon partnership with Special Olympics of Tennessee was a unique project in which we helped them brand and build the bid for Nashville to host the 2030 Special Olympics USA Games. You can get the whole scoop on that work here.
