##How could we bring our favorite Christmas movie *back* to life with a tech-inspired twist?
Kevin McCallister was innovating long before we were, and we've always admired his style. Michael Jordan cutouts, mannequins on turntables, and tying strings to himself? He's one clever kid. So, when we were tasked with creating a Christmas card here at redpepper this year, we asked ourselves--what would Kevin McCallister do? We figured it might look a little something like this:
For the 25th anniversary of Home Alone, we re-created one of our favorite scenes--and made it interactive. We thought about how we could take Kevin’s homemade security system and turn it into an office party anyone in the neighborhood could play with using their smartphones.
##Home Alone Holidaython: Keep the party going
We started with the same basics Kevin did--a few large windows, and some classic silhouettes. We knew Michael Jordan had to make appearance. From there, we figured we could take some creative liberties--building in reindeer, dancers, snowmen, gingerbread, and more to liven up the Christmas party happening upstairs in the windows of our agency.
But we didn’t want to stop there--we built in a few easter eggs that make the party even crazier the more people join. And, of course, we hung some Christmas lights and our stockings with care. Then, we were ready.
##Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.
From there, we invited Nashville to swing by and interact--and help us keep the jingle bells ringing throughout the whole Christmas season. A little gift of nostalgic Christmas cheer from us, to all of you.
##The Tech Specs
We won’t get into the nitty gritty [(but you can)](https://medium.com/@mcreed/home-alone-holidaython-69b44c71e798#.r7rcgl3r4), but this baby runs on MeteorJS, a projector, magic and Christmas cookies.
